What age can I use this from?
It is designed for infants upward. As with any aspirator, use the lowest setting on a newborn and stop if your baby is distressed. If you are unsure, ask your health visitor or paediatrician before using it — we would rather you check than guess.
Is it safe to put in the nostril?
The silicone tip is shaped to seal against the opening of the nostril, not to be inserted. Never push it in. That is true of every nasal aspirator, electric or manual.
Does it hurt or scare the baby?
Most babies dislike being held still more than they dislike the suction. Starting on level one and keeping it brief is what makes the difference.
How do I clean it?
The tip and collection chamber both detach. Rinse them in warm soapy water after every use and let them air dry. Do not put the motor body in water.
Can I use saline first?
Yes, and it works considerably better if you do. A saline drop or spray loosens things first — suction alone struggles with dried mucus.
Is this a medical device?
We sell it as a nursery care product, not as a medical treatment. It does not treat colds, allergies or infection — it clears a blocked nose so a baby can breathe and feed more comfortably.
